Just when I thought the human race was once again a pile of garbage......I was wrong. A young couple trying to carrying their second child to full term, has been in the hospital now for 7 weeks in critical condition. Kelley has contracted a lung disease and has been on a ventilator, and a medical induced coma. She was recently moved to Ann Arbor, University of Michigan hospital. She is getting excellent care and has a neo-natal nurse with her 24 hours a day. As you can imagine, the costs are mounting. It was decided, between Ottawa River Yacht Club and River View Yacht Club, to hold a Benefit Spaghetti Dinner. Within one week, more than $1,000 has rolled in. Unbelievable donations for the auction and many, many people willing to volunteer. The willingness to help out someone, that is in such dire straights, has warmed my heart. There are good, no, great people out there. When times are tough, the tough get going, and I am seeing that first hand. And it makes me happy.
So, if anyone is hungry after the Cancer walk on Sunday, head to Ottawa River Yacht Club. Dinner starts at 3:00. Donation is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. There will be music, drinks and a live auction.

People can be pretty amazing. I'm glad so many people are contributing and helping out in any way they can.
